Well, tomorrow is our first class back to CC after winter break, and I am excited about getting back! We have a full agenda today, focusing a lot on review over the first 12 weeks of CC. This break we focused on resources and projects that built our excitement for the coming of Christ, and after Christmas….well…we basically recovered from the holidays, spent time enjoying friends and family, and fit in bits of general school work here or there. I also used this time to do some planning for this “semester” (even though our schooling never ends!) and added in a couple of new things into our school day. Today is the day we put it all to work! I am excited to see how the planning will shape into reality!
Well, for those of you who have purchased Lapbooks, it sounded like everyone was running out of space when it came to geography. So I took some great tips from another CC Smart Mama and cheanged the way the geography section is arranged in Lapbook 4. Also, I created this great Freebie! This is a template that you can print on two different kinds of Avery clear labels, and directions for printing your own maps! Just print the map, have your child color the features, and peel and stick the label! They really turned out nice I think! Throw a “Geography Party” – get together one day with other CC families and spend a morning on Geography! Make a round cake, and frost it like the earth for snack! It could be fun! Ideas are endless! Check out the U.S. Maps at the back of your Foundations Guide and try to mimic them!
Enjoy this free geography resource and tell your friends about it! The earth is the Lords, and we learn so much more about Him through our study of Geography!
Coming soon: Pictures of our special project / CC review game we made over break. We will be playing it today!
Blessings, Karen
